Additional and Special Needs

 We are very aware of the Special Needs of both gifted children and those with varying degrees of learning difficulty.  Good monitoring enables us to quickly identify a child who may be experiencing difficulty or may need an extra challenge in a subject.

 Policies

 We have a number of policies including Equal Opportunities, Anti-Racism, Positive Behaviour, Inclusion, Complaints, Child Protection and Special Educational Needs.  Details are given to new parents in our Welcome Pack but can be made available to you at any time.

 Progress and Achievements

All aspects of school life work on the ‘Positive Approach’ to learning. Monitoring and testing are used to profile an individual’s strengths and weaknesses.  Class sizes are well below average and children are treated as individuals with their own needs being met as required.  Various awards recognise a child’s achievements in all areas of social, creative and academic learning.  Formal reports are sent home termly, but parents meetings, both planned and ad-hoc provide a continuous dialogue between home and school.
